Lemon Water Bottles

Ingredient Notes
10–12 Organic Lemons: Using organic lemons is preferred as the zest is the primary flavor source.

1 Bottle (750ml) Grain Alcohol or Vodka: High-proof grain alcohol (like Everclear) extracts flavor faster, though 100-proof vodka is a popular alternative.

3 Cups Water: Used to create the simple syrup base.

2–3 Cups Granulated Sugar: Adjust based on your preferred level of sweetness.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Zest the Lemons: Carefully peel or zest the lemons, ensuring you only get the yellow outer layer.

Infuse: Place the zest in a large glass jar and pour the alcohol over it. Seal tightly and let it sit in a cool, dark place for at least 1 week (up to 4 weeks for maximum flavor).

Strain: After the infusion period, strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve or coffee filter to remove the zest.

Make Simple Syrup: Combine water and sugar in a pot, bringing it to a simmer until the sugar is fully dissolved. Let it cool completely.

Combine: Pour the lemon-infused alcohol into the cooled simple syrup. The mixture will turn from clear to cloudy yellow.

Bottle: Using a funnel, pour the liqueur into clean glass bottles.

Chill: Store in the freezer or refrigerator for at least a day before serving to allow the flavors to mellow.

Menu & Pairing Suggestions
Light Appetizers: Serve chilled alongside the Avocado and Spinach Egg Salad.Salads

Savory Balance: The bright acidity of the liqueur cuts through the richness of Slow Cooker 3-Ingredient BBQ Country Style Ribs or Philly Cheesesteak Garlic Bread.

Dessert Pairing: Excellent when enjoyed with 4-Ingredient Gooey Butter Bars or the Low Carb 3-Ingredient Baked Egg Custard.

Starch Sides: A refreshing palate cleanser after a hearty serving of Slow Cooker 3-Ingredient Poor Man’s Potato and Butter Beans.
