Soft Homemade Bread Dough Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 ½ cups (420 g) all-purpose flour or bread flour

  • 2 ¼ tsp (7 g / 1 packet) active dry yeast or instant yeast

  • 1 cup (240 ml) warm milk (~110°F / 43°C)

  • 2 tbsp (30 g) unsalted butter, softened (+ extra for greasing)

  • 2 tbsp (25 g) sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 egg (optional, for extra richness)
